Earthquake triggers tsunami warning in Guam

Guam, and other pacific islands under tsunami watch following an 8.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands.

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake strikes Pagan Island, in the Northern Mariana Islands 

On March 3, at 11 am, an earthquake with a 5.2 magnitude struck Pagan Island. 

Pope Francis appoints a new bishop to the US Virgin Islands

Monsignor Jerome Feudjio “has served as a priest of the US Virgin Islands’ diocese for more than 30 years.” He will now serve as bishop, following the retirement of Bishop Herbert Bevard.

Representative Ritchie Torres pitches the need for Puerto Rican statehood on MSNBC

Torres states that statehood would give Puerto Ricans “a seat at the table,” allowing for increased representation and improved access to resources.

Partial settlement reached in Guam’s abortion access lawsuit

“The settlement ensures that one of the two laws challenged in the filing, a 1978 law that requires abortions be “performed” in a clinic or hospital, cannot be used to restrict access to medication abortion.” The case will continue on March 18.
