Bills proposed to rebuild Vieques, a former Navy bomb testing site

This Puerto Rican island suffered greatly as the result of military testing. Bills HR 1317 and HR 1126 have been proposed to rebuild the island and support its residents.

Afghan refugees may be evacuated to Guam

Afghani interpreters who worked for the US military may be evacuated to Guam as visas are reviewed and final decisions are made.

Cruise ships return to the US Virgin Islands 

Cruise ships have not been to the USVI for over a year. Returning ships will bring in revenue, but also crowds and potential risk for the spread of Covid.

Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan announces $480 million deal to provide Medicaid to the Northern Mariana Islands

This deal will provide Medicaid funding to the commonwealth for the next 8 years. 

American Samoa remains under vaccination targets

Only 48.5% of eligible residents in American Samoa have been vaccinated, well under the targeted 80%.
