Passed on July 22, 1954, the Revised Organic Act of 1954 provided the US Virgin Islands a Bill of Rights, a court system, a single-body legislature, and the abolishment of discriminatory criteria for voting, completely reorganizing its government.

Casey Bell is a senior pursing her degree in Communications at Florida Atlantic University.
