Alpine and University Bound renew partnership to offer free SAT prep for Virgin Islands students
High school juniors and seniors in the United States Virgin Islands will soon have another chance to prepare for college success through Alpine’s free SAT Preparation Program. Offered in partnership with the University of the Virgin Islands’ University Bound initiative, the program aims to strengthen academic readiness and expand college access for students across the St. Thomas–St. John District.
The senior session began on October 11, 2025, with classes held every other Saturday through November 29. The junior session will follow from December 6, 2025, through February 28, 2026. Each session includes in-depth lessons in math and language arts, along with full-length mock exams designed to reduce test anxiety and improve scores.
According to Alpine, past participants in the SAT Prep Program have increased their scores by an average of 90 points. Students who complete all course requirements will also be eligible to win prizes, including gift cards and Texas Instruments TI-84 graphing calculators.
“Investing in youth programs is at the heart of Alpine’s mission,” said Vernon Araujo, Alpine’s Director of Philanthropy and Community Relations. “We’re proud to once again partner with University Bound and the University of the Virgin Islands to ensure our students have the tools, guidance, and confidence to unlock their full potential.”
University Bound Director Rosalia Rhymer-Rohan praised the partnership’s continued impact, saying it gives students both the academic preparation and confidence needed to pursue higher education.
Registration is open for High School juniors through November 14, 2025. Students can register through the University Bound program at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Alpine Philanthropy supports programs that align with its mission to make a lasting, positive impact on the Virgin Islands community through education, opportunity, and sustainable development.
