A spirited advocate for the political and economic development of the US Virgin Islands, Bryan has fought to mitigate unemployment, steer economic growth, and help small businesses in the responsibilities he has held. As Commissioner of Labor, he spearheaded the Jobs for America’s Graduates Initiative. It allowed for over $14 million in funding for training and advancement of services at the Department of Labor and $150 million in federal unemployment benefits.Â

In April 2024, Bryan went on the podcast “Recovery in Focus” and shared some of his goals for the islands in terms of recovery from hurricanes Irma and Maria. These goals included rebuilding infrastructure, expanding housing, and finding a solution to the islands’ energy problem. The reshaping of the energy system is especially a priority for Bryan. He cited that “when we fix the energy problem in the Virgin Islands, it opens up so much more opportunities.” He proposes a solar panel network as an alternative to the islands’ current energy system.
Bryan has spent the majority of his life aiming to benefit the community around him. He has been a leader, not only as governor, but as a nonprofit executive and Commissioner of Labor. Bryan’s experience in economics is shown through his policies as governor and his future goals.
