THIS EVENT IS NOT CANCELLED. DISREGARD ANY INFORMATION SAYING OTHERWISE.
South Florida Activism and Women’s March Florida PBC chapter are now the co-organizers of the event.
As such, some changes are going to take place. This morning, after meeting with the police, we’ve come to understand that due to the vast and growing number of attendees, we will NOT be realistically able to gather at Bingham Island. However, we do still plan to march, and to gather along Flagler Drive to the north of the bridge along the green area adjacent to the water.
Our march will still begin at Trump Plaza, 525 South Flagler Drive, WPB, FL. We will begin gathering at 5 PM. From there, at 6 PM, we will march south along Flagler until we reach the “bend”, and then we will rally along the waterside there. An exact map will be posted in the comments on this page.
Parking near Trump Plaza is available at the City Place parking garage roughly 3 blocks west, as well as street parking available through out the city.
You will need to dress comfortably for the weather and for the walk; it is 2.4 miles, or roughly 45 minutes on foot. You will need to bring your own water. You will need to be personally responsible for yourself, your trash, your belongings, and your actions!
Yes, we know there are areas where the sidewalks are slim, and the police understand that we may spill out into the road in some areas. No, we don’t have porta-potties, but neither did Dr. King! No, we do not have a permit, nor are we seeking one as we do not need one. We have spoken with the police regarding our plans and they agree that we are acting in the best interest of you, our friends. We understand that the march is not realistic for all people due to the distance and terrain. Unfortunately that’s the nature of the beast, but we hope those folks will still join us for the rally at the end of the march!
Please share this information with anyone you know who is planning to attend the event.
