What is the Washington Leadership Program?
The Washington Leadership Program (WLP) is a non-profit organization founded in August 2008 in memory of publisher and philanthropist Gopal Raju, who sponsored a program that placed over 170 students in public service internships over 15 years. The organization was founded by alumni of Mr. Raju’s program who seek to continue his legacy and continue this vital program for the community.
Each summer, we provide South Asian college students with Congresstional or agency internships, mentors, panels/discussions with community leaders and a leadership curriculum to get a first hand look at public service and public policy careers and guidance in their own professional development.
