Pablo Jose Hernandez launches bid for resident commissioner seat

Pablo Jose Hernandez (PDP), a grandson of former Governor Rafael Hernandez Colon (PDP), recently launched his bid for Puerto Rico’s resident commissioner seat. The seat is one that Puerto Rico citizens vote on during the General Election, and the resident commissioner is responsible for working with the United States House of Representatives.

Guam to begin serving eviction notices to people residing in illegal encampments

Homeless people in Guam will be responsible for relocating if they reside in an illegal encampment as the Office of the Attorney General announced Friday that eviction notices will be served to people living in encampments on private property or public land. This comes as one of the first actions of the Homeless Relocation Initiative.

Northern Mariana Islands athlete defeated in tense tennis match 

Seventh seed of the Bengaluru Tennis Open, Alibek Kachmazov, defeats Northern Mariana Islands athlete Colin Sinclair. The score of the match was 7-5, 6-2; Kachmazov will advance to the 32-player main draw of the tournament.

US Virgin Islands faced another homicide in 2023

In St. Thomas on Friday night, a man was fatally shot near the Upper Hospital Ground. In 2023, there have been seven homicides in the US Virgin Islands.

American Samoa Covid task force announces final financial expenses report

American Samoa’s COVID task force, which was tasked with finding solutions to the spread of the disease on the island, presented their final financial expenses report of over $73 million spent on responding to the pandemic. The task force has finished their final meeting last month as their duties are no longer needed.
