~~Sorry about the time changes, Facebook has been a bit glitchy tonight, official time that Planned Parenthood asked us to change it to is 12-2pm~~
Join us on the steps of City Hall to show support for Planned Parenthood and their mission :
To provide, promote, and protect access to reproductive health care and sexuality education so that all people can make voluntary choices about their reproductive and sexual health.
While this event is in support of Planned Parenthood, we are not representative of or affiliated with Planned Parenthood.
THIS IS, MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, AN ALL-INCLUSIVE, INTERSECTIONAL EVENT! Reproductive justice must also be racial and economic justice. Women of color [especially Black, Latinx, and Indigenous], and trans/non-binary persons [especially of color] are historically and currently disproportionately more affected by oppressive reproductive health limitations including poverty, unemployment, inadequate housing and transportation, and sterilization. It is the responsibility of white women to educate themselves on how they can make a tangible difference to help women of color access the same reproductive freedoms they are so often denied. Interrupt white feminism! Let us use this platform to demand reproductive freedom for all of us!
If you are interested in volunteering directly for Planned Parenthood’s Portland, ME Health Center during this event, please refer to this link:

MAINE RESIDENTS: Call Senator Susan Collins and tell her to vote NO on any political action to defund Planned Parenthood!
SUSAN COLLINS: (207) 945-0417
Here is a call script from the Planned Parenthood Direct Action website to reference from:
“Hi, my name is ____________ and I live in _____________.
I’m calling to ask my Senator to vote NO on any attempt to defund Planned Parenthood.
This is nothing more than a blatantly political attempt to do whatever it takes to attack women’s health and rights and take health care away from the people who need it most. If Congress cuts funding to Planned Parenthood, millions of people will be left without access to birth control, lifesaving cancer screenings, and other basic care. Many of them will have nowhere else to go for the health care they need.
I’m counting on my Senator to do the right thing and stand up for the Planned Parenthood patients in our community and across the country who rely on those health centers.
I stand with Planned Parenthood because [insert your own story, if you like].
I expect my Senator to vote against any attacks on Planned Parenthood and the vital health services they provide.
Thank you for your time.”
Share this event far and wide, we want to completely overwhelm this rally with a massive turnout in the name of reproductive rights for all!
