Electile Dysfunction

For some reason, most of these awkward ads, including this week’s, were published during the 2014 US Elections. I guess 2014 featured tons of candidates that were full of weird.

We are featuring J.D. Winteregg, an unsuccessful candidate for the US House of Representatives from Ohio, in this week’s post.

The first point that gets our attention is the usage of a new phrase ‘electile dysfunction’. The ad actually provides us with a clear explanation to this phrase:

“It could be a question of blood flow. Sometimes when a politician has been in DC too long, it goes to his head and they just can’t seem to get the job done”

In my opinion, I believe that his phrase was great for what he was trying to accomplish. John Boehner, his opponent for the Republican primary, had been in the Congress for 30 years. In other words, Winteregg was telling the audience that Boehner’s time was over.

Winteregg could not accomplish what he had expected from himself. He was defeated by Boehner in the Republican primary. Winteregg managed to pull of 22.7% of the votes, whereas Boehner received 71.5% of the total votes.

Winteregg tried his luck again in the 2016 Republican primary for Boehner’s vacated seat. This time, Winteregg ran against Warren Davidson. The result was the same. Davidson got the free spot by getting the plurality with 32%.
