Taking action to try and stabilize and then improve the economy of Puerto Rico, the island’s government has frozen all future tax credits, also freezing $2 billion more to hopefully stabilize the budget.

The husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, attorney George Conway is expected to be picked by President Trump to lead the Department of Justice’s Civil Division. Conway is a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and received his law degree from Yale.

After clearing the House of Representatives by a vote of 240-175, a new bill that makes it easier for “mentally incompetent” veterans to buy guns will now go before the Senate. Critics of the bill say it would only increase the number of veteran suicides, a number that has drastically increased anyway over the last decade.

As a key piece of President Trump’s immigration orders in the recent weeks, he has asked the U.S. Border Patrol to hire an additional 5,000 agents, a request the organization says will take at least four to five years as they won’t lower their hiring standards just to meet quotas.
